Rabat – The second edition of Morocco’s only archaeology and heritage film festival is set to take place from June 9-13, following the success of its inaugural edition last year.
Organized by the Center for Studies and Research on the Archaeological and Anthropological Heritage of the Middle Atlas, the festival continues the institution’s mission of promoting and preserving Morocco’s archaeological heritage since its founding in 2019.
Held under the theme “Humanity, Culture, and Space,” the festival will present a rich program featuring 22 films, including 16 competing in the official selection.
The screenings will take audiences on a journey through human cultural evolution, from prehistoric eras and rock art to the invention of writing and ancient civilizations.
Supported by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and organized in collaboration with the Amiens Archaeological Film Festival, the event aims to bring archaeology and heritage closer to the wider public through cinema and scientific exchange.
One of the key discussions will focus on the latest archaeological discoveries in Morocco, offering audiences insight into the country’s evolving research and preservation efforts.
By bringing together cinema professionals and leading experts in archaeology and heritage, the festival hopes to introduce Moroccan audiences to the latest global productions dedicated to history, culture, and human civilization.
