Rabat – Shakira turned the FIFA World Cup final into a dazzling fashion moment, taking the stage in a custom sunset-inspired gown embellished with more than 200,000 crystals that sparkled under the stadium lights as she delivered a show-stopping performance.
The look paired a crystal-encrusted bodysuit with a flowing fringe skirt that swayed effortlessly with Shakira’s signature choreography.
Brought to life by Roberto Cavalli’s Creative Director, Fausto Puglisi, the stunning outfit took over two weeks to complete.
It featured more than 200,000 hand-set Swarovski crystals and 120 hours of precise hand embroidery, designed to shimmer and flow seamlessly with every step.
The custom print, named “Ray of Sunset,” was a fresh, warm tribute to Cavalli’s classic “Ray of Gold” motif.
Bathed in rich shades of orange, yellow, and vibrant pink, the color palette mirrored a glowing twilight.
Puglisi shared that Shakira personally requested these sun-kissed tones to radiate warmth and power on stage.
The look also paid tribute to one of the most iconic moments of Shakira’s career, recalling the warm gold and orange tones of the Roberto Cavalli ensemble she wore while performing “Waka Waka” at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Sixteen years later, the familiar palette brought her journey full circle, celebrating the legacy of a performance that became inseparable from football history while embracing a new chapter on the world’s biggest stage.
The visual impact extended seamlessly to her 34 backup dancers, who also wore matching Roberto Cavalli outfits inspired by the “Ray of Sunset” print.
Ranging from crossover tops and skirts to sleeveless shirts and wide-leg trousers in vibrant oranges and yellows, the synchronized wardrobe created a unified, high-energy spectacle that brought the entire stadium to life.
