Rabat – Moroccan actor Youssef Kerkour will lead the new comedy-drama “Significant Other” alongside Katherine Parkinson who is best-known for portraying Jen Barber in the critically acclaimed sitcom “The IT Crowd.”

Commenting on the new production, Kerkour said: “I’m overjoyed and very grateful to be teaming up with Nicola Shindler once again and to have the privilege of working with Katherine Parkison whom I’ve been a fan of for so many years.”

He added, “The real value of a career is the outstanding people one gets to work with and the love and joy which that work brings to an audience.”

Describing the plot as “beautiful story with a wickedly funny center,” Kerkour said he was excited to share the show with the public.

The new Quay Street  production tells the story of Anna and Sam, two lonely neighbors in their mid-40s who start a challenging and hesitant relationship after going through life-changing experiences.

“‘Significant Other’ is a beautifully unconventional love story [that] deals with loneliness and the messiness of love and I hope the scripts will resonate as much with an audience as they did with me,” said Quay Street Productions’s Katheine Parkinson. “I can’t wait to get started!”

The show was written by Dana Fainaru and Hamish Wright and will be directed by  “Home” filmmaker David Sant. Filming is scheduled to start in September in Manchester, UK, while the final production will be streamed on ITVX in 2023.
