Rabat – Former American professional boxer Mike Tyson was photographed for King Kong magazine, wearing an overcoat embroidered with motifs from the Moroccan-inspired brand Casablanca.
Mike Tyson’s look is from the fall-winter 2022 collection of Casablanca, entitled ‘Le Monde Diplomatique.’
Casablanca is a luxury clothing brand created by French-Moroccan fashion designer and creative director Charaf Tajer in 2018.
The Moroccan fashion designer reportedly founded the brand in his mother’s living room “with a little more than $3,000,”managing to transform it into a Paris fashion house in three and a half years.
Tajer’s remarkable career has led him to collaborate with major luxury brands such as Bulgari and New Balance sneakers.
He has also reportedly been in contact with Italian luxury fashion company Versace and offered to design the company’s men’s clothing line, although there is no sign of a public agreement yet.
The fashion designer is also a finalist for the LVMH prize 2020, as well as making it to the finals of the International Woolmark Prize 2021 and the Andam Grand Prize 2021.
This is not the first time Casablanca has featured well-known celebrities. American actor Nicolas Cage starred in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, joined by two of the most sought-after models in fashion, Alton Mason and Anok Yai.

‘“The french brand with a souvenir of Morocco,” as Tajer described it in an October 2018 interview with Vogue, is on its way to joining the French luxury brands legacy.
