Rabat – Marrakech maintains its lead as one of the best tourist attractions in Morocco and the world. According to a ranking from leading travel platform, Tripadvisor, the city was voted as the eighth-best city for tourists in 2023.
In the 2023 Travelers’ Choice ranking, Marrakech came in eighth place, following Dubai, Bali, London, Rome, Paris, Cancun, and Crete.
Commenting on Marrakech’s raking, Tripadvisor wrote: The “Red City” of Marrakesh is a magical place, brimming with markets, gardens, palaces, and mosques.”
The travel website noted some of Marrakech’s must-see locations: “Exploring the intimate courtyards and snaking alleyways of the historic Medina can easily eat up a day. Find inner peace at the serene Jardin Majorelle or take in the beauty of one of the city’s historic mosques,” the Tripadvisor website read.
Marrakech is no stranger to international praise. Earlier this month, the city ranked the seventh best city to inhabit in 2022 in the global Time Out Global Index 2022.
Known as Morocco’s Southern Pearl, the city gained a reputation for being an “international melting pot.”
Marrakech is also famous for being one of the world’s best destinations for luxury tourism. The city holds some of Morocco’s most luxurious and prestigious hotels and resorts.
In February 2022, another international travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller ranked Marrakech in its top 10 friendliest cities in the world.
The magazine described the city as one of the most accessible cities enjoying a “mix of traditional” and modern ways of life.
