The 38-year-old Canadian artist, who was a landmark in the 2000s pop culture scene, is the latest in a long list of celebrities who have over the past months and years expressed their love for Morocco and its rich heritage.
In 2018, the iconic singer and performer Madonna celebrated her 60th birthday in Marrakech, Morocco’s famed “Read Pearl” and one of the world’s top travel destinations.
“Most memorable and magical birthday week! Thank you to all who helped make it happen! To all good wishes from around the world and to magical Morocco for hosting us,” Madonna said in an Instagram post after enjoying her birthday in Marrakech.
Morocco is a popular luxury tourism destination for many of the world’s A-list celebrities, with many choosing to celebrate new year’s eve in the country.
Among the celebrities who opted to spend the most recent new year’s holiday in Morocco was French TV and radio presenter Ophelie Meunier, who shared pictures of her and her family enjoying a visit to Marrakech.
American actor Ben Felman also headed for Marrakech with his wife Michelle Mulitz ahead of new year’s eve. The couple shared on Instagram their journey in the Ourika Valley, located 30 kilometers from Marrakech.
