Rabat – Three destinations in Morocco featured among the world’s top ten greatest road trips in a ranking from CarMats, a UK automotive manufacturer.
In a recent study on the world’s most iconic highway destinations, three road trips in Morocco have ranked in the top ten greatest road trips on the planet.
Topping the charts in fourth place is the Atlas Mountains. The destination is an all-time favorite among tourists thanks to the rugged peaks, picturesque valleys, and charming Amazigh villages.
The Sahara Loop connecting Morocco to Mauritania ranks in fifth place, followed by the Coastal Road Trip of Morocco in sixth. The scenic drive along the Atlantic coastline presents a mix of sandy beaches, cliffs, and panoramic views of seaside towns.
To create the ranking, CarMats considered various factors for each destination, including the average summer temperature, annual rainfall, sunlight hours, light pollution levels, and the presence of national parks.
Additionally, the list considered the duration of the road trip, measured in the number of days required to drive the entire length of the road.
According to the evaluation, the top-ranked road trip in the world was the Savannah Way, a route that spans across Queensland and Western Australia, and has 15 national parks along the way.
The second spot went to the Grand Circle, located in the southwest region of the United States. The journey offers travelers magnificent views of valleys, canyons, and access to ten national parks.
The trip covers a distance of 1500 kilometers, and completing the route typically takes between two to three weeks.
