Rabat – Professional footballer Arnaut Danjuma, currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, recently captivated fans by embracing the vibrant traditions of Morocco. The Nigerian-Dutch footballer took to his Instagram account to share a picture of himself wearing traditional Moroccan attire, accompanied by the caption “Ana Maghrebi,” translating to “I’m Moroccan.”

In another post, Danjuma extended Eid Mubaarak wishes (Blessed Eid) to his followers on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

The Nigerian-Dutch international footballer plays  as a left winger for Spanish club Villarreal CF but was loaned to English club Tottenham Hotspur until the end of June 2023.

The footballer’s market value is estimated at €25 million, according to the website Transfer Market.

With his comments, Danjuma joined a growing trend among international footballers who have showcased their love for Moroccan culture.

In April 2022, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star player Kylian Mbappe, captured the hearts of his Moroccan fans when he demonstrated the art of pouring tea in the Moroccan way. The Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi, Mbappe’s close friend and teammate at PSG,  posted a video of the French center forward pouring Moroccan tea in a typically Moroccan style.

Morocco’s charm continues to attract international footballers, who often visit the country to explore its rich cultural heritage.

Earlier this week, Morocco’s red city Marrakech played host to a gathering of world-class stars, including Morocco’s Amrabat brothers and Mbappe.

Videos circulated online of the gathering, showing Mbappe receiving a warm welcome in the Red City, accompanied by fans and lively folklore music bands.
