Marrakesh – Moroccan rapper ElGrande Toto made waves on Saturday with a surprising declaration – he’s quitting hashish (cannabis).

In a tweet, the artist admitted, “I never imagined I’d consider this, but I think I’ll quit smoking,”

The announcement has sparked intrigue and debate among fans and followers alike, as they speculate on the reasons behind his unexpected decision.

Toto’s followers reacted strongly to this post, with most of them supporting his decision, considering it wise and encouraging for young people to follow suit.

“You will help a lot of young people to quit,” one social media user stated approvingly.

Another commenter remarked, “Twitter may not be the ideal platform for this news, but it’s the best decision you could make,” adding that, “I used to watch you on Skyrock and always wondered when you’d quit. We support you.”

However, others believe that Toto giving up smoking will negatively impact his artistic career, fearing he may become, in their words, “less creative.”

“You will become fat and won’t know how to rap,” one X user criticized bluntly.

Another commented, “You will encourage people to quit, but artistically, it’ll be tough, especially since your persona is so intertwined with this.”

One commenter drew parallels to Snoop Dogg, suggesting a “copy-paste” scenario, alluding to when he famously claimed to quit smoking as a marketing stunt.
