In a dazzling whirl of yellow, the beloved residents of Springfield just served up a season finale that felt like a rollercoaster ride through a funhouse.

Marrakech – In a twist that left fans holding their breath, The Simpsons kicked off its 36th season on Fox with an episode titled “Bart’s Birthday,” playfully hinting at the end of an era.

As viewers settled in on September 29, they were greeted with the shocking announcement that this would be the final episode of the beloved animated series.

The episode opened with a cartoon version of Conan O’Brien, the iconic talk show host and former Simpsons writer, who entered a fictional movie theater filled with a star-studded lineup of guest stars from seasons past.

With a wink and a grin, he declared, “It’s an honor to be here for the finale of The Simpsons. I knew I was the right person for the job because I’ve hosted the last episode of three of my own shows. That’s right, Fox has decided to end The Simpsons.”

O’Brien went on to humorously share that Fox had been trying to cancel the show for years, revealing that many classic episodes were initially designed to serve as series finales.

As the story unfolded, it took a surreal turn with the revelation that the writers had harnessed the power of artificial intelligence to craft this supposed last hurrah.

Fans watched in disbelief as Mr. Burns met an untimely end, leaving his fortune to the power plant employees by mistake, Principal Skinner bid farewell to Springfield Elementary, and Moe’s bar hung up its “closed” sign.

But just when viewers thought they were witnessing the end of an iconic era, Bart had a revelation that turned everything upside down.

Realizing that celebrating his birthday didn’t quite fit into a cartoon where he had been 10 years old for the past 35 years, he hesitated to blow out the candles.

Cue Homer, ever the doting father, who stepped in to remind Bart that things don’t need to change just because the episode claimed it was the end.

With that, normalcy returned to Springfield, and The Simpsons was still very much alive.

While the opening antics may have sparked confusion, fans were quick to point out some inconsistencies.

As Variety noted, this was merely the start of Season 36, with many episodes still in the pipeline. In fact, the next episode, humorously titled “Yellow Lotus,” is set to parody the hit series “The White Lotus.”

So, take a deep breath, Simpsons fans; our favorite family is not going anywhere just yet.

With clever humor, guest appearances, and a twist ending that left us all chuckling, The Simpsons continues to prove that they still have plenty of life left in their animated limbs.
