Morocco is all set to dive headfirst into the digital age this November, and it’s not just about tech – it’s about the art of it all.
Marrakech – Digital November (Novembre Numérique) is taking over Morocco this year, bringing a world of digital innovation to the North African kingdom from November 1 to 30, 2024.
With over 70 countries and 100 cities participating globally, this event celebrates the boundless creativity of the digital world, where technology and art collide in unexpected ways.
Throughout November, the twelve branches of the Institut Français du Maroc will present a series of performances at the intersection of digital arts, showcasing the best of French and Moroccan digital creation, including:
Verlatour x inlum.in electro concert
Get ready for an electrifying, interactive experience where the audience takes center stage.
This high-energy electro concert plunges you into a retro-futuristic universe, blurring the lines between artist and spectator.
#Drift (À la dérive)
The “#Drift” immersive dome experience will take you on a visually stunning journey through the cosmos, following an astronaut as they venture into the unknown.
The immersive dome creates a 360-degree environment where you’re not just watching the story; you’re living it.
E.MOTION
“E.MOTION” is a game-changer in the world of theater. The show takes you through the emotional journey of a young girl who loves science and storytelling but is forced to confront difficult feelings after a traumatic event.
It blends traditional stage performance with augmented reality, where 3D avatars become the girl’s emotional guides.
These avatars, or “monster avatars” as they’re called, help the character explore and process her emotions in ways that are anything but traditional.

Oh, you think that’s all? Well…
To celebrate digital culture, the Institut Français du Maroc is expanding its reach this year, partnering with key players to support major digital events.
In collaboration with renowned festivals and cultural happenings, the Institute aims to share the best of Moroccan and French digital culture with a wide audience, while fostering exchanges between creators, institutions, and industry professionals.
From November 20–23, Rabat is about to get a major upgrade with Visa for Music, one of the largest music festivals in Africa.
The Institut Français du Maroc is stepping up as a key partner, offering a masterclass by Jocelyn Soler (aka Verlatour) on music and digital creation.
If you’ve ever wondered how music and technology intersect, this workshop will give you an insider’s look at the future of music production.
Plus, to wrap up the festival on November 23, Verlatour will take the stage to showcase his immersive concert that puts you in the driver’s seat of the show.
But that’s not all. Malik Yahi, an independent musician, composer, and video game designer, will also lead a workshop focused on the interactivity of music in video games.
Khouribga is about to host its first-ever Digital Art Khouribga (DAK) festival from November 13–17, and it’s not to be taken lightly.
The festival will feature “Lithomnèsies,” an immersive installation by the AliceA company that has already won accolades at the prestigious “Laval Virtual Awards.”
During the festival, you’ll also get to experience the “#Drift” show and explore the incredible works created by the winners of the Lab Digital Maroc initiative, a project supported by the Institut Français du Maroc.
The International Video Art Festival
Rounding out the month’s celebrations is the International Video Art Festival, taking place from November 25–30.
This festival is where the digital world of visual art comes alive, showcasing everything from augmented theater like “E.MOTION” to interactive installations like “Je(u)” by artist Jisoo Yoo.
The festival also includes two major exhibitions: “ESCAPE RELOADED” and “What Could Have Been,” both of which explore the cutting-edge fusion of digital art, video games, and virtual reality.
So, what’s the takeaway?
Digital November is not just a collection of events; it’s a moment to experience the fusion of tradition and innovation that’s defining the future of Moroccan art.
This month-long celebration highlights Franco-Moroccan digital creativity, from immersive concerts to augmented theater, offering a window into the possibilities where technology and culture meet.
According to the organizers, this ambitious project wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of both public and private partners, including Crédit du Maroc, a long-time supporter of the arts in Morocco, which has been helping the Institut français du Maroc bring these groundbreaking digital experiences to life.
So, if you’re looking for an artistic journey like no other, November in Morocco, where digital innovation is experienced and not just imagined, is the place to be.
