You still have time to apply, and don’t worry – entering is free and easier than you think.
Marrakech – Africa Travel Week (ATW) is inviting businesses to enter the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards, a prestigious recognition that celebrates those shaping the future of travel.

With the deadline looming on March 19, 2025, it’s time to grab your chance and show the world how your efforts are driving tourism as a force for good.

“These annual awards celebrate exceptional efforts driving tourism as a force for good,” stated Megan De Jager, Portfolio Director for RX Africa, in a press release.

“They’re our way of honouring initiatives that address key global challenges while enhancing the travel experience.”

If your business is leading the charge in sustainability, local empowerment, or environmental stewardship, now’s the time to showcase those efforts.

The six categories for 2025 are designed to show the diverse ways responsible tourism is shaping the industry.

They are: “All-Inclusive Tourism: Can it be Responsible?,” “Adapting to Climate Change,” “Increasing Local Sourcing (to Create Shared Value),” “Peace & Understanding,” “Managing Waste: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Upcycle,” and “Nature Positive Travel.”

Do any of them seem like a fit? Whether you’re innovating sustainable all-inclusive options or tackling waste management, there’s a category to showcase your unique contributions.

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts, led by Harold Goodwin, WTM Africa’s Responsible Tourism Advisor.

Think of this as your golden opportunity to put your company on the map – if you’re in the running, you could even compete for global recognition at the Responsible Tourism Awards later in 2025.

Africa has proven its mettle in these global awards, winning as many as five times in previous years.

Now’s the time to follow that trailblazing path and make an impact on a global scale.

Submitting your entry is simple – just visit the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards page, select your category, and download the entry form.

Then, all you need is to share a compelling case study showcasing your measurable impact and innovative approach to responsible tourism. Make sure to share it with the email they list on the website.

This is surely an opportunity you don’t want to miss.

Tourism has the power to change the world, and if that message speaks to you, it’s time to make your mark.

The winners will be announced live at WTM Africa at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on April 10, 2025, with gold winners getting the chance to represent Africa on the global stage.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your entry in before the deadline, and let the world know you’re leading the way in responsible tourism.
