The partnership benefits over 250 young people and children in innovative programs that combine education, watersports, and personal development.

Marrakech – In a transformative collaboration seeking to foster youth development through sport, the Sanlam Li-Ennajah Foundation and Tibu Africa have unveiled two major initiatives in Dakhla: the “Second Chance School Program” and “Sporty Generation.”

These programs aim to equip young people and children from the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, as well as other areas across Morocco, with the tools to build promising futures, the two parties said in a press release.

The ultimate aim is to promote education through sport as a catalyst for sustainable transformation, it added.

The Second Chance School Program, focused on sports careers, targets young individuals aged 15 to 20 who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).

Through an integrated approach combining watersport activities, personal development workshops, and hands-on training, this program provides a unique opportunity for social and professional integration.

Participants will also receive personalized support to develop essential skills like resilience, leadership, and communication.

Meanwhile, the Generation Sportive Program aims to introduce children from various regions to an active and healthy lifestyle while strengthening their educational and social development.

“We deeply believe in the power of sport as a catalyst for opportunity and change. These programs are aligned with our vision of lasting impact, helping young people unlock their potential, dream bigger, and actively contribute to the development of their communities,” stated Yahia Chraibi, representative of the Sanlam Li-Ennajah Foundation.

Centered on the values of sport-for-health, the Generation Sportive Program encourages balanced living through collaborative workshops and regular sports activities.

It fosters skills such as cooperation, emotional management, and conflict resolution, contributing to the holistic growth of the children.

For Mohamed Amine Zariat, President-Founder of Tibu Africa, “this collaboration with the Sanlam Li-Ennajah Foundation reflects our shared vision of transformation through education and sport.” He stressed: We are grateful for the Foundation’s ongoing commitment, which has enabled the launch of several impactful programs in the past.”

Zariat concluded by emphasizing that his ultimate hope is to see “these new initiatives continue this fruitful partnership, offering Dakhla’s youth the opportunity to become the architects of their success while contributing to their community’s development.”

The two programs are directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3, which calls for promoting healthy lifestyles through regular participation in watersports and educational activities, noted the joint press statement.

They are also in line with SDG 4 – Quality Education – by offering inclusive educational opportunities to prevent school dropouts, it stressed.

They finally contribute to SDG 8 by enhancing the employability of youth through practical training and professional skill development, the statement went on to argue.

It concluded that this partnership between the Sanlam Foundation and Tinubu Africa underscores the collective commitment to using sport as a powerful tool for social transformation in Dakhla and beyond.
