Eco-consciousness wasn’t just a buzzword this year — it was a priority.

Marrakech – Every now and then, a sports event comes along that doesn’t just make your legs burn — it warms your heart, too.

This year’s Raid Med by Saïdia Resorts was exactly that.

From April 29 to May 4, Morocco’s Oriental region was more than just a backdrop for adventure — it was the beating heart of a story about strength, solidarity, and some serious sweat.

If you’ve never heard of Raid Med, imagine this: teams of two (yes, they ditched the trio format this year) biking, running, paddling, and navigating their way across some of the most jaw-dropping landscapes Morocco has to offer.

From the Mediterranean shores of Saïdia to the mysterious Marchica lagoon near Nador, this was a full-blown multisport mission.

2025’s biggest twist? Trading trios for duos. And let’s be honest: two’s a vibe.

This clever move didn’t just switch up the strategy — it opened the doors for more teams, especially women and mixed pairs, to dive into the action. And they did.

With grit, grace, and a GoPro or two.

There were two paths: a starter circuit designed for discovery (and heart) that proudly highlighted breast cancer survivors backed by the “Les Amis du Ruban Rose” association.

And then there was the expert circuit, aka the “good luck, don’t trip” route — tailor-made for athletes looking to push their limits through trail running, mountain biking, canoeing, and navigation challenges.

Sure, the scenery looked like it belonged in a nature documentary: wild beaches, rocky trails, peaceful lagoons.

But Raid Med wasn’t just a treat for the eyes — it was a reminder of what it means to move with purpose.

Because behind every drop of sweat was a bigger cause.

Eco-consciousness wasn’t just a buzzword this year — it was a priority.

A collaborative beach cleanup with Ain Atlas and Al Abtal Saïdia brought teams together off the track, proving that sometimes the biggest wins happen when no one’s timing you.

Let’s talk about the real MVPs: the breast cancer survivors who didn’t just show up — they conquered.

Thanks to Les Amis du Ruban Rose, awareness wasn’t an afterthought — it was front and center.

A special awareness day even offered breast self-exam workshops to local women, including those working in the Saïdia resort area.

Because empowerment doesn’t end at the finish line — it starts with knowledge.

“We had an exceptional edition, with perfect conditions on the ground and more teams than ever completing the entire course,” stated founder Zineb Bennouna.

“It confirms Raid Med as a top-tier multisport competition in Morocco.”

And she’s right. Raid Med wasn’t just a race — it was a rally. For the body, the soul, and the planet.

Because when you combine adrenaline with awareness, and push boundaries while building community, you’re not just crossing a finish line — you’re changing the game.

So here’s to the duos who dared. The women who roared. And the trails that turned into tales worth telling.
