Marrakech – At this year’s Critics’ Awards for Arab Films, held during the Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch’s latest creation picked up not one, but two major awards: Best Screenplay and Best Actress for the phenomenal Nisrin Erradi.

It’s the kind of recognition that doesn’t just say “bravo” — it says, “we see you, we feel you, and we’re taking you seriously.”

But if you think this story ends with an award ceremony photo-op, think again. Touda is just getting started.

After dazzling in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, the film has now spread its wings to Sweden and Romania.

Germany joins the party on May 29, and screenings in Italy, Norway, and Denmark are right around the corner.

“Everybody Loves Touda” was already making headlines long before this awards buzz.

It was officially selected at the Cannes Film Festival last year and later chosen to represent Morocco at the 2025 Oscars in the “Best International Feature Film” category. No pressure, right?

The film follows Touda — a woman you can’t ignore, played with raw brilliance by Nisrin Erradi — navigating the chaos, contradictions, and quiet courage of a life that’s anything but simple.

It’s emotional without being melodramatic, powerful without preaching.

And if there’s one thing the film proves, it’s that Moroccan cinema doesn’t need permission to take center stage — it just needs a story that dares to be told.

So yes, “Everybody Loves Touda”. But this time, it’s not just a title — it’s a truth backed by trophies, screenings across Europe, and a global audience that’s ready for a Moroccan heroine who refuses to stay quiet.

Because let’s face it: the world could use a little more Touda energy right now.
