Rabat – From July 18 to August 31, the Bahri Association is launching its second annual “Chbyka Summer Tour,” a coast-to-coast movement tackling plastic pollution across 30 Moroccan beaches.
From Saïdia to Dakhla, this citizen-powered campaign combines awareness drives with hands-on cleanups, featuring the innovative “Chbyka” tool to collect even hidden microplastics.
With support from BMCI Foundation, Bahri Association is scaling up its fight against plastic pollution on Morocco’s beaches.
Last year’s effort mobilized 1,800 volunteers to collect 5,200 kg of waste. This year’s edition expands the cleanup zones, boosts youth awareness programs, and implements long-term solutions.
The partnership reflects BMCI Foundation’s commitment to environmental action and sustainable water initiatives.
Today, Chbyka has become a global symbol in the fight against plastic waste. Proving small tools can drive big change.
This summer, a passionate team of six volunteers is hitting Morocco’s most beautiful beaches.
From Dar Bouazza to Dakhla, at each stop, they’re hosting free community cleanups where anyone can help. You’ll get to use their special Chbyka tool to find hidden microplastics.
They make learning fun with hands-on workshops and reward participants with eco-friendly gifts. With 30+ beach stops planned, it’s your chance to make a real difference while enjoying the coast.
Launched in 2022 by Bahri Association, Chbyka is a simple but powerful tool designed to collect invisible microplastics from beaches while educating people about hidden pollution.
It went viral on social media, amassing over 300 million views.
