Marrakech – After filming scenes in the legendary Ksar Aït Ben Haddou (likely playing the role of ancient Troy) and then jetting to Italy’s scenic Sicilian coast, Christopher Nolan is now turning his lens toward the golden silence of the Sahara.

Nolan and key cast members Matt Damon and Zendaya were seen arriving at Dakhla Airport, greeted (of course) by starstruck fans.

Yes, you read that right — Nolan and his team have officially landed in southern Morocco, in none other than the breathtaking coastal gem of Dakhla, to continue filming “The Odyssey.”

And it’s not just any location they’ve picked: it’s La Dune Blanche, a surreal white-sand formation plunging into the turquoise waters of the lagoon, located about 30 km from the city.

This isn’t just another blockbuster. Scheduled for release on July 15, “The Odyssey” promises to be a technical and artistic feat — filmed entirely with IMAX cameras — and boasting a cast that reads like a who’s who of contemporary cinema: Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, and more.

As the production moves across continents and epic landscapes, it’s clear Nolan is pulling out all the stops for what could be his most visually ambitious film to date.

With Dakhla’s surreal dunes and tranquil lagoon now immortalized on IMAX film, Moroccan landscapes are once again proving irresistible to Hollywood’s elite.
