Marrakech – In a freshly unveiled report by international business magazine CeoWorld, Morocco has secured the 14ᵗʰ spot in the 2025 Global Cultural Influence Index, out of 197 nations analyzed.

This recognition is built on glowing pillars: historical richness, cuisine, art, language, and the international reach of its heritage. It’s not just about couscous and caftans (though, let’s be honest, those help); it’s about centuries of stories stitched into the fabric of everyday life.

Morocco edged out Thailand (15ᵗʰ), sitting just behind Mexico (13ᵗʰ). The top of the list? Italy leads the charge, followed by Greece, Egypt, China, and India. France remains strong in 6ᵗʰ place, while Iraq claims 7ᵗʰ. Israel, Iran, and Turkey round out the top 10.

The evaluation was based on a comparative analysis of nations’ cultural performances using several criteria: cultural influence, historical depth, heritage diversity, cuisine, artistic achievements, language, fashion, music, and architecture. Basically, everything that makes you want to book a flight or redecorate your apartment.

“These rankings highlight the incredible cultural heritage of our world, celebrating the nations that continue to influence art, history, and traditions,” CeoWorld explained.

“Beyond economic growth and development, a country’s heritage is a key marker of its identity. It reflects the remnants of ancient culture and traces of historical struggles, attracting millions of visitors each year. These countries are home to some of the most influential cultures in the world.”

So while the world moves faster every year, Morocco reminds us that influence doesn’t always come from innovation — sometimes, it’s whispered from the spice markets, sung in ancestral rhythms, or seen in the intricate tilework of a centuries-old riad.
