Marrakech – On July 21, Mimo Lazrak, the young Moroccan comedian, turned his 24th birthday into a laughing moment, under the bright lights of Montreal’s “Just For Laughs” festival.

On a stage graced by giants like Gad Elmaleh, Jamel Debbouze, and over 500 international artists, Lazrak delivered something rare that night.

His performance was funny and magnetic! With wit that blended tenderness and sharp clarity, he invited the audience into a world, where memory mingles with irony, and where personal stories become collective truth.

Effortlessly moving between self-deprecating humor, cultural commentary, and what can only be described as poetry in motion, Lazrak gave the crowd a taste of Moroccan humor and a glimpse of a generation in flux. One searching for meaning, identity, and a bit of light in the chaos.

And judging by the thunderous applause and teary chuckles echoing through the venue, he struck a nerve – a good one!

Wondering who Mimo Lazrak is?

Born in Casablanca and now splitting his time between Paris and his hometown, Mimo is part storyteller, part truth-teller – with a degree in social sciences and a heart firmly connected on stage.

He cut his teeth on Paris’ alt-comedy scene, where audiences quickly picked up on his unique mix of sharpness and subtle rebellion.

His comedy is personal, political, and poetic. It doesn’t scream, but it pulses. With every word, he builds a bridge between the intimate and the universal – turning comedy into both a common ground.
