Rabat – Nearly two decades after the iconic 2006 film “The Devil Wears Prada” took the world by storm, a sequel is officially in the works.
Confirmed in July 2024, the new movie will reunite Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci as they step back into the merciless world of high fashion, now transformed by the digital age.
According to Variety, the “Devil Wears Prada 2” will follow Miranda Priestly as she battles the decline of print journalism while clashing with Emily Charlton, now a powerful luxury executive whose advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs.
The film may also draw inspiration from Lauren Weisberger’s 2013 sequel novel, “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns,” which picks up a decade later with Andy and Emily as magazine editors, until Miranda reenters their lives.
Filming began in June 2025, while the release date is May 1 of next year.
The original film, based on Weisberger’s novel, was a cultural phenomenon. – grossing $326 million worldwide and cementing itself as a fashion and workplace comedy classic.
The sequel has big heels to fill, but with the original cast and fresh faces, it’s poised to deliver sharp wit, high-stakes drama, and of course, Miranda’s legendary one-liners.
