Marrakech – Mercedes-Benz has announced that its latest CLA model will come equipped with Microsoft Teams video conferencing, available even while the car is in motion.
Thanks to a first-of-its-kind partnership with Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz becomes the first carmaker to enable video calls on the go, powered by its new MB.OS operating system.
The system integrates directly with the Microsoft Teams Meetings app, using the vehicle’s built-in camera to place drivers front and center in any scheduled call.
Drivers won’t be able to view other participants or shared screens while the vehicle is moving, in compliance with road safety laws.
Essentially, the car becomes a microphone-and-camera-equipped cockpit; hands-free call, but make it corporate. The camera itself can be switched off if the driver prefers.
The CLA’s new interface doesn’t just let you take calls. A revamped dashboard shows your next scheduled meetings, frequently contacted colleagues, and even supports chat through voice commands.
Need to update your calendar on the fly? Just speak.
And the tech upgrades don’t stop there. Mercedes-Benz is already working with Microsoft to bring its 365 Copilot AI tool into future models.
The goal? Turn your car into a full-fledged AI assistant – real-time email summaries, prep notes for upcoming meetings, and client info — all served up as you drive.
“We’re making it easier for our customers to stay productive while on the move,” stated Ola Källenius, Mercedes-Benz Group CEO.
“By integrating Microsoft workspace tools directly into our operating system, we’ve created an intuitive and safe experience that boosts efficiency — without increasing distractions.”
