Rabat – Two years after its first show, the Moroccan film “Ana Mashi Ana” (I Am Not Myself) is returning to cinemas across Morocco, starting with Casablanca.

This move is unprecedented, as “Ana Mashi Ana” is the first film to be re-released in cinemas for the second time after its release two years ago.The film will be re-released for the second time starting August 20th. 

The decision to re-release the film comes in response to the growing demand from audiences who didn’t have the opportunity to see it during its initial screening.

In addition to the huge commercial success it achieved, as it recorded high revenues, making it one of the most successful Moroccan cinematic works in recent years. 

“Ana Mashi Ana” is the first Moroccan film to be officially re-released in cinemas, which reflects its distinguished position in the artistic arena and its ability to attract a wide audience, thanks to its social comedy plot and the performances of a group of the brightest stars of Moroccan cinema.

Produced by “Spectop” company, owned by Fatna Benkiran. and written and directed by Hicham El Jebbari, the film stars Aziz Dadas as Farid, who attempts to spend his honeymoon in Marrakech before being surprised by his revengeful ex-wives, setting off a comedic chase action adventure.

The stars are Majdouline Idrissi, Soukaina Drabil, Wassal Pires, and Dounia Boutazout in her cinematic debut.

The film was shot between Marrakech and Essaouira and their suburbs, lending the film an authentic Moroccan atmosphere that blends the beauty of nature with the spirit of Moroccan cities. 

This return confirms Moroccan cinema’s ability to blend artistic pleasure with commercial success.
