Fez — The Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival has unveiled the juries for its 30th edition, set to run from October 25 to November 1, marking three decades of celebrating  Mediterranean cinema and new talent.

Organizers said this year’s milestone edition will celebrate “the persistence and ambition” that helped the festival grow from a small cinephile gathering into a renowned regional event.

Over the course of a week of screenings, meetings, and training activities, audiences and industry guests will discover titles that reflect the Mediterranean’s creative diversity.

Italian filmmaker Leonardo Di Costanzo will preside over the feature film jury. He is joined by Moroccan director and screenwriter Asmae El Moudir, French actor–theater director Serge Barbuscia, Portuguese producer and festival director Isabel Machado, and Egyptian director–screenwriter Amir Ramses. Ten fiction and documentary features from across the region will compete for the festival’s top honors, including the Grand Prize of the City of Tetouan, the Mohamed Reggab Jury Prize, the Azzedine Meddour First Film Award, and prizes for Best Actress and Best Actor.

The Mustapha Mesnaoui Criticism Jury will present its award to a work distinguished by its aesthetic approach and critical gaze. The panel features Moroccan journalist and critic Fatima El-Ifriqi, French critic Cédric Lépine, and Italian journalist–critic Francesco Pontiggia.

Founded in 1985 by the Friends of Cinema in Tetouan association, the festival has consistently promoted energetic, forward-looking cinephile values, turning the northern city—long known for welcoming foundational artistic movements—into a meeting point where styles and sensibilities cross.

The 30th edition was originally slated for April before organizers postponed due to financial and logistical constraints. With dates now confirmed for late October, Tetouan is preparing to welcome filmmakers, critics, and audiences back into a program that pairs discovery with dialogue—true to the spirit that has guided the festival for 40 years.
