Marrakech – From November 13-15, the city will host the Fusion Show Ayta d’Bladi, a cultural event that promises to reimagine the Moroccan stage as both a time capsule and a crystal ball.

Launched by Public Events, with the artistic direction of Hamid Daoussi and cultural guidance from Hassan Najmi, the show is positioning itself as much more than a festival.

“Ayta D’Bladi is a true intergenerational show: we keep the soul of Aïta while connecting it to today’s sounds,” said Othman Benabdeljelil, CEO of the company, in a press release shared with Morocco World News.

It’s an intergenerational dialogue where Aïta, the traditional folk poetry and music once sung by women to narrate stories of love, loss, and rebellion, intertwines with Morocco’s pop idols and urban voices.

The lineup

So far, seven names have been announced, each representing a different strand of Morocco’s musical DNA:

  • Douzi
  • Hajib
  • Manal Benchlikha
  • Daoudi
  • Daoudia
  • Ihab Amir
  • Hamid El Kasri

And this is only the opening act. More names are set to drop, teasing a constellation of stars where heritage and hype collide.

Ayta d’Bladi isn’t just about the concerts

The event will feature a temporary museum of Aïta, an immersive installation where visitors can explore the roots of this powerful oral tradition.

We’re talking costumes, instruments, archival sound, and storytelling woven into a sensorial journey, like stepping into Morocco’s collective memory while the future unfolds onstage.

If Moroccan music has always been a mirror of society—raw, emotional, rebellious, then Ayta d’Bladi is its boldest reflection yet. It dares to ask: What does it mean to keep tradition alive in a world of reinvention?
