Marrakech – In an exciting turn for Arab drama, Marrakech has been chosen as the backdrop for a sprawling historical series currently in production, showcasing the city’s growing status as a go-to destination for filmmakers across the Arab world.

Titled “Heroes of the Sands,” the 15-episode series is reportedly slated for release during the upcoming Ramadan season on a leading Arab streaming platform.

The show dives into the pre-Islamic era of the Arabian Peninsula — a time rich in tribal conflicts, cultural traditions, and poetic heritage.

The creators aim to strike a balance between historical accuracy and artistic innovation, employing cutting-edge filming and production techniques under the guidance of director Samer Jaber and Moroccan producer Mohamed Kaghat

The cast is a dazzling mix of Moroccan and Arab stars, including Adnane Mouhejja, Abdenbi Benioui, Abdelilah El Kghat, alongside Nedal Najem, Khaled Najem, and Mohamed El Ibrahimi, bringing together diverse artistic expertise from across the Arab world.

Marrakech’s rise as a cinematic and dramatic hub is no accident. The city’s natural landscapes, architectural gems, and skilled technical crews have cemented its reputation as a reliable and inspiring production playground for major Arab and international projects.

“Heroes of the Sands” is expected to add a new chapter to Morocco’s growing portfolio of Arab productions, offering audiences a visually stunning, historically rich portrayal of the Arab heritage while positioning the Kingdom as a creative bridge between cultures.

The choice of Morocco — and Marrakech in particular — is deliberate. The city’s natural and historical sites perfectly emulate the desert landscapes and ancient settings required for the series.

Recent filming experiences in Morocco have proven successful, leaving audiences impressed with both local talent and production quality.
