Fez – Moroccan audiences will hear a familiar thread on Rosalía’s upcoming album. Arabic is among the 13 languages featured on “LUX”, due out on November 7, 2025. The artist discussed the multilingual concept in a recent episode of The New York Times’ Popcast, and Spanish outlets have detailed several of the languages she explores, including Arabic, German, Latin, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Spanish, and English.

The project reflects a long runway. Rosalía said the record took around three years to make, with roughly one year focused only on lyrics. She described her process as intuitive and even used translation tools to double-check meanings and rhyme choices while writing across languages.

A first glimpse arrived with “Berghain,” a striking, classically tinged single sung partly in German and recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. The track surged into Spotify’s global top 10 shortly after release, signaling strong interest ahead of the full album. “LUX” is her fourth studio LP, following 2022’s Motomami.

The language spread on the album is central to its artistic concept rather than a technical stunt. In her Popcast remarks, Rosalía framed the choice as an artistic way to connect with different cultures and emotional registers, not as an AI experiment or novelty.

Coverage of the interview emphasizes that the singer is steering the process herself, from composition to pronunciation, to keep the songs grounded in feeling.

Spanish music press have previewed additional details, listing early song titles and underscoring the album’s multicultural ambition.

With Arabic explicitly in the mix, “LUX” is poised to resonate across North Africa, the Middle East, and the diaspora while extending Rosalía’s habit of stretching pop forms into new shapes.

If the early reception to “Berghain” is any guide, Rosalía’s bet on languages could land as her boldest move yet, one that invites listeners to follow the feeling first, no matter the tongue.
