Rabat – In 2024, several sources announced that the iconic Ramadan series “Bnat Lalla Menana” would be coming back for a third season, nearly 13 years after the release of the second season back in 2013.
On-and-off rumours emerged about an additional third season. In 2024, many actors hinted at a spinoff project. In September, it was announced that filming had begun for a possible release for Ramadan 2026.
Almost a month after filming, however, many sources have reported that the Moroccan actress Meryem Zaimi was missing on set.
Although fans were highly anticipating the new season, it came as a surprise when Zaimi’s absence from the long-awaited reunion was confirmed. This is due to her conflicting and busy schedule as an actress, writer, and producer. The actress is currently working on her theatre piece, “Fouda,” which she is directing and producing. The actress is reportedly focusing on her new piece, leaving her less time to embark on other projects.
According to Hespress, the new season of “Bnat Lalla Menana” will feature new characters portrayed by many young rising actors and actresses. The source also expressed that the project seeks to give exposure to young and emerging talents who deserve as much love and appreciation as the original cast.
