Marrakech – The spectacular show “Nostalgia Laâyoune”, a major artistic production celebrating Morocco’s collective memory and the epic of the Glorious Green March, was presented Thursday in Laâyoune, captivating audiences with a truly unforgettable experience.
Held as part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the historic Green March, the event was attended by key figures including the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Wali of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Governor of Laâyoune Province, Abdeslam Bekrate, along with elected officials and accredited consuls general.
Launched under the Ministry’s “Nostalgia” program, the show highlights Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and history in a creative and engaging way.
Through a contemporary stage approach, the production pays tribute to the Green March, reflecting the loyalty, unity, and continuity that define the Kingdom’s history.
Combining acting, music, dance, and lighting, “Nostalgia Laâyoune” took audiences on a sensory and emotional journey, blending authenticity with modernity, and showcasing art as a bridge between past and present, tradition and innovation.
The evening culminated in a dazzling drone light show over Oum Saad Square, with nearly 800 drones forming shapes, motifs, and stories in the night sky.
Accompanied by narration, the show also highlighted major development projects in the region under Morocco’s new southern provinces development model, initiated by King Mohammed VI.
