Fez – The Royal Mansour Marrakech and La Mamounia, two of Morocco’s most renowned establishments, have earned top international recognition in this year’s World’s 50 Best Hotels ranking. This annual list, compiled by industry experts and travel professionals, highlights the best destinations for refined hospitality worldwide.
Ranked 13th globally, Royal Mansour Marrakech continues to represent the pinnacle of Moroccan luxury and craftsmanship. Opened in 2010, the palace-hotel was designed to embody Morocco’s cultural and artistic identity, offering a guest experience rooted in traditional architecture, gastronomy, and service excellence. The establishment also took home two additional distinctions this year — the WhistlePig Highest Climber Award and the title of Best Hotel in Africa 2025 — reflecting its growing global stature.
In 30th place, La Mamounia, another Marrakchi landmark, once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. First opened in 1923, the century-old institution blends Andalusian-inspired interiors, lush gardens filled with olive and orange trees, and an atmosphere that evokes timeless Moroccan grandeur. According to the ranking’s jury, “La Mamounia remains a benchmark of elegance, where Moroccan aesthetics and luxury coexist in perfect harmony.”
The 2025 edition of the list was dominated by Asian establishments, with Rosewood Hong Kong taking the number one spot, described as “a model of modern minimalist hospitality,” followed by the Four Seasons Bangkok and Capella Bangkok. Despite fierce global competition, Morocco’s strong representation on the list reflects its position as one of the leading destinations for luxury tourism, where tradition and innovation meet to offer world-class experiences.
Earlier this year, La Mamounia also ranked 44th in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, further cementing Marrakech’s reputation as an international capital of style and hospitality. Together, these distinctions reaffirm Morocco’s growing influence in global tourism and the excellence of its hospitality industry — one that continues to charm the world through authenticity, artistry, and exceptional service.
