Marrakech – Berkan International Theatre Festival has announced the dates for the event’s ninth edition, reaffirming its commitment to open communication and continuous engagement with theatre professionals and enthusiasts. The festival will take place from January 23 to 26, 2026.

This year’s edition will feature a diverse lineup of theatre troupes from Morocco and abroad, including companies from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Tunisia, along with a pan-African ensemble representing Cameroon, Nigeria, and Sudan. 

Several Moroccan theatre groups will also take part, highlighting the country’s creative dynamism.

Beyond performances, the festival will host a series of talks and panel discussions exploring theatre, arts, cultural development, and the intersection between creativity and community growth. 

The program also includes cultural and touristic excursions to Tafoughalt and Saïdia, offering participants an opportunity to discover the region’s heritage and historical richness.

In addition, training workshops in directing and acting will be held at the Berkan Cultural Center, aiming to support emerging talent and strengthen professional capacities within the theatre ecosystem.
