Marrakech – From December 1-29, the Auditorium Pierre Bergé at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech reaffirms its role as a major cultural hub, presenting a rich and eclectic program in close collaboration with MACAAL and the Instituto Cervantes.

This December, audiences are invited to an immersive aesthetic journey where cinema, fashion, and music intersect, offering a rare opportunity to experience emblematic works and exclusive performances in one of Marrakech’s most exceptional cultural spaces.

True to the institution’s spirit of openness, the season is freely accessible, allowing all visitors to explore its creative offerings.

At the core of the program lies the “Fashion in Film” cycle, an unmissable rendezvous every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Far from conventional screenings, this selection explores the visceral connections between aesthetics, clothing, and representation across eras.

From the opulence of Ancient Egypt reimagined by Hollywood to the daring contemporary visions of Yorgos Lanthimos, and through the golden age of Marlene Dietrich, each film serves as a window into the art of self-presentation.

This cinematic journey began alongside the Marrakech International Film Festival, anchoring the Auditorium at the heart of the city’s cultural buzz.

The Auditorium Pierre Bergé stands as a platform for artistic synergy, strengthening partnerships with prestigious institutions like MACAAL and the Instituto Cervantes.

These collaborations enrich the season with rare diversity, blending art-house cinema and live music. Highlights include a Christmas concert of Ibero-American repertoire, offering audiences a sonic voyage, and a special evening in partnership with MACAAL, showcasing the dialogue between visual arts, music, and design.

One of December’s standout events is “Héroïnes de l’Opéra”, a recital dedicated to the great female figures of opera, from Händel to Puccini. This musical and emotional journey explores the shaping of modern sensibilities through themes of love, sacrifice, loss, longing, and freedom.

Iconic arias from Rinaldo, Carmen, La Bohème, and Madama Butterfly reveal the depth and inner strength of these characters.

The recital features soprano Daniela Tabernig and pianist José Luis de Miguel, complemented by a talk from conductor and lecturer Rafael Lamas, who highlights opera’s influence on modern emotional imagination.
