Fez — The New York Times has published its “100 Best Movies of the 21st Century” list, a ranking drawn from a large-scale industry poll that asked participants to name their top films released since January 1, 2000.
At the top of the list is “Parasite,” followed by “Mulholland Drive,” and “There Will Be Blood.” Filmssuch as “In the Mood for Love,” “Moonlight,” and “No Country for Old Men” round out the highest tier.
How the list was made
The newspaper’s methodology, as described by outlets relaying the ranking, relied on a poll of more than 500 influential figures across cinema, with each voter submitting a personal top 10. The results were then compiled into a single, ranked top 100.
What stands out in the ranking
The final selection leans heavily toward internationally celebrated auteurs and widely discussed awards-era hits, but it also makes room for comedies, animation, documentaries, and genre films that shaped pop culture beyond traditional festival circuits.
