Fez — Moroccan-American producer RedOne has released a new music video on YouTube as part of the cultural momentum surrounding AFCON 2025, this time dedicating the project to Moroccan mothers who raised generations of football legends.
The track, titled “L’Maghribiya,” brings together three prominent names from Morocco’s contemporary music scene: Hatim Ammor, Salma Rachid, and Fnaire.
Released with an accompanying cinematic video, the project blends music, imagery, and national symbolism to spotlight the often-unseen role of mothers in shaping Moroccan excellence, on and off the pitch.
A cultural tribute tied to AFCON 2025
Rather than focusing solely on football spectacle, the video centers on family, sacrifice, and upbringing, presenting Moroccan mothers as pillars behind athletic success. Through emotionally charged scenes and lyrical references, “L’Maghribiya” frames national pride as something nurtured at home long before it appears in stadiums.
The release follows a series of creative projects led by RedOne in connection with AFCON 2025, positioning music as a parallel language to sport in expressing collective identity and gratitude.
Music and production credits
The song was produced by RedOne for “2101 Productions,” with co-production by KAMI. Writing credits include RedOne, Adil Khayat, Mehdi Bouamer, Mohamad Lmerdi, and Fnaire. Recording took place at Hiba Studio and RedOne Studio, while mixing and engineering were handled by Steph Elouardi and RedOne at 2101 Studios in Dubai. The track was mastered by Steph Elouardi, with recording completed in 2025.
A cinematic production team
The video was directed by Sarah Ahlaloum, with cinematography by Hamza Gounin. Executive production was handled by Maverick Studio, with Hamza Gounin and Youssef Barradi serving as executive producers. The production team included Naima Ouggad as director of production and Amine Ghabrani as production manager, alongside a large technical and creative crew spanning camera, lighting, art direction, styling, post-production, and visual effects.
Editing and color grading were overseen by Mohamed El Fadel, with visual effects by Azedine Hiri and sound design by Wassim Ahajjam, contributing to a polished, cinematic final result.
Music as national storytelling
With “L’Maghribiya,” RedOne continues to use large-scale collaborations to tell national stories through music, aligning pop culture with major sporting moments. By centering the narrative on Moroccan mothers, the project shifts the spotlight away from trophies and toward the personal foundations of success.
As AFCON 2025 approaches, the video adds a softer, human dimension to the tournament’s cultural buildup — one that celebrates heritage, family, and the quiet strength behind Morocco’s sporting heroes.
