Fez — The Board of Directors of the sports company managing Raja Club Athletic has announced the appointment of Nawal El-Aidaoui as Director General of Raja S.A., a move described as strategic in the club’s ongoing transformation into a joint-stock company.
The decision is intended to strengthen governance structures while accelerating the club’s economic and sporting development.
The appointment comes as Raja continues to formalize its new corporate framework, a shift designed to professionalize management, improve transparency, and secure long-term financial sustainability. Club officials view the move as a decisive phase in aligning Raja with international standards of sports governance.
A multifaceted professional background
An engineer in Computer Science and Telecommunications Networks, El-Aidaoui graduated from the École Mohammadia d’Ingénieurs. She brings more than 25 years of multifaceted and entrepreneurial experience, spanning technology, strategy, marketing, and communications.
She spent 14 years at Procter & Gamble North West Africa, where she held roles across IT, marketing, sales, institutional communication, and public relations. She later founded her own strategy consulting firm, advising Moroccan and international companies on structuring, growth, positioning, and crisis communication.
This combination of corporate leadership and entrepreneurial insight is seen by Raja’s board as a key asset at a time when the club is seeking to diversify revenue streams and modernize its operations.
Deep roots within Raja
Beyond her professional resume, El-Aidaoui brings an intimate understanding of Raja’s internal ecosystem. She previously served on the club’s executive committee in 2018 and again in 2022. During that period, she founded Raja’s women’s football section and chaired the Marketing and Revenue Development Commission.
Her involvement has given her first-hand experience with the club’s strategic challenges, supporter expectations, and commercial potential. Observers note that this dual profile — combining internal knowledge with external expertise — positions her to navigate the club’s transition with continuity and credibility.
International recognition
El-Aidaoui’s profile extends beyond the national stage. She was recently appointed by the Council of FIFA as a member of the Interclub Women’s Competitions Commission for the 2025–2029 mandate. The appointment signals international recognition of her leadership and strategic vision, particularly in the development of women’s football.
For Raja S.A., this global exposure reinforces the club’s ambition to position itself as a modern African football institution, connected to international governance networks and best practices.
A new phase for Raja S.A.
The appointment of Nawal El-Aidaoui is widely seen as more than a personnel change. It reflects Raja’s broader ambition to redefine its management model while preserving its sporting identity and popular base.
As Raja navigates increasing financial pressures and competitive demands, the club’s leadership is betting on structured governance and experienced management to ensure stability and growth. El-Aidaoui’s mandate now places her at the center of that transformation, at a moment when Raja is seeking to balance tradition with modernization on both the national and continental stages.
