Fez — Princess Lalla Hasnaa presided on Sunday evening in Rabat over the annual diplomatic charity gala, an event organized at the initiative of the Diplomatic Foundation and in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The gala has become a yearly fixture on Rabat’s diplomatic calendar. It brings together members of the foreign diplomatic corps accredited in Morocco, alongside patrons from the worlds of business, culture, and civil society, around a shared commitment to solidarity and social action.

A charitable initiative with a social mission

The diplomatic gala is dedicated to fundraising in support of vulnerable populations across Morocco. Proceeds from the event are directed toward financing associative projects focused on child protection, improving the living conditions of rural women, strengthening the capacities of young girls, and supporting youth initiatives.

Over the years, the initiative has positioned itself as a platform that combines diplomacy and philanthropy, channeling international engagement toward concrete social programs on the ground. Its continuity has helped consolidate partnerships between Moroccan institutions and foreign representations in Rabat.

A decade of sustained engagement

The evening was marked by the screening of a film about the ten years of the effective presidency of Princess Lalla Hasnaa over the gala. The presentation traced the evolution of the initiative and showcased the sustained mobilization of the diplomatic corps in favor of its charitable objectives.

This long-term engagement has contributed to the gala’s institutional credibility and reinforced its role as a reliable mechanism for supporting social development efforts within the Kingdom.

Morocco–Saudi Arabia partnership in focus

This year’s edition was organized in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations between Rabat and Riyadh. In this remarks, Saudi Ambassador to Morocco Sami Bin Abdullah Bin Othman Al-Saleh touched upon the depth of cooperation between the two countries and the shared commitment to humanitarian and charitable initiatives.

The event put on display the close ties uniting Morocco and Saudi Arabia, rooted in longstanding historical relations and reinforced through strategic cooperation across multiple sectors. These relations are guided by the shared vision of the two countries’ leaderships, including King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Mohammed bin Salman, alongside King Mohammed VI.

Recognition of institutional support

For his part, Diplomatic Foundation President Abdelati Habek expressed gratitude to Princess Lalla Hasnaa for her continued support and personal commitment to the event. He also highlighted the broader royal encouragement of solidarity-based initiatives and humanitarian action in Morocco.

The evening concluded with the presentation of the 2026 Diplomatic Gala Shield to Princess Lalla Hasnaa, followed by a commemorative photograph with members of the Diplomatic Foundation’s committee.

Beyond its ceremonial dimension, the gala once again affirmed the role of diplomacy as a vehicle for social engagement, reinforcing Morocco’s efforts to couple international relations with concrete humanitarian action.
