Fez — The Winter Show 2026, held on Saturday, January 17, marked a major milestone for fashion design students from College LaSalle Rabat, who came together under the collective name “A.M.A.R.A” to present a two-hour runway celebrating African identity, movement, and youth creativity.
Far more than an end-of-year academic exercise, the Winter Show represented the culmination of three years of training and collaboration.
Designed as both a professional fashion event and a cultural statement, the show unfolded under the theme “The Africa Cup of Nations: Style in Motion,” drawing symbolic connections between sport, fashion, and collective pride.
A runway inspired by Africa and movement
According to the organizers, the show was conceived as an homage to Africa’s energy, diversity, and unity. Each silhouette explored movement as a visual language, reflecting a generation in search of renewal, expression, and belonging.
Through color, texture, and form, the collections merged elegance with strength, translating the spirit of the Africa Cup of Nations into fashion narratives.
The organizers described the event as a message of unity, freedom, and pride, positioning fashion as a bridge between cultures and generations.
The public in attendance included students, artists, entrepreneurs, media professionals, and invited guests, underscoring the show’s ambition to operate at a professional level.
A student-led production from concept to execution
Behind the scenes, the Winter Show relied on a detailed organizational structure managed entirely by students. Creative direction, garment production, choreography, music, communication, and logistics were all handled internally, offering participants hands-on experience in the realities of the fashion industry.
The project also carried a strong pedagogical dimension. Beyond the runway, it aimed to develop technical mastery, teamwork, and project management skills, guiding students from initial sketches to final presentation.
Gratitude and recognition from the organizers
One of the student organizers highlighted the collective effort behind the event, emphasizing both the emotional and professional significance of the show.
“So as we saw, the Winter Show was something amazing, something wonderful, something we never saw before,” one of the organizers told Morocco World News (MWN).
“I want to thank all the students that worked really hard throughout this runway. I also want to thank Morocco World News for being a partner and an official sponsor of this runway. And I want to thank all the teachers who helped us today to make all of this happen and make it real.”
The acknowledgement reflected the collaborative spirit at the heart of the project, where institutional support, media partnerships, and academic guidance played a key role in bringing the students’ vision to life.
A platform for emerging Moroccan talent
By positioning the Winter Show as both a cultural and educational event, the Amara collective aimed to spotlight emerging Moroccan and international talent while affirming the place of African-inspired fashion within contemporary creative industries.
Beyond the applause and aesthetics, Winter Show 2026 stood as a statement of confidence from a new generation of designers — one that sees fashion not only as an art form, but as a language of identity, unity, and ambition in motion.
