Marrakech – Casablanca will host the Davis Cup World Group I play-off tie between Morocco and Colombia on February 7- 8 at the USM Tennis Club, marking the competition’s return to the city after more than 20 years.

The winner of the tie will secure a place in World Group I, a key level in the global Davis Cup structure.

The encounter will be played in front of a limited crowd of 2,000 spectators, with ticket sales opening on Monday, January 26, making early booking essential for fans.

This tie represents a major moment for Moroccan tennis, both competitively and symbolically.

Casablanca last hosted a Davis Cup match in 2003, when Morocco famously defeated Great Britain 3–2 in a World Group play-off.

The return of the competition revives one of the city’s most memorable sporting chapters and places it back on the international tennis map.

Morocco will contest the tie under the leadership of Hicham Arazi, former world-class player and national team captain.

His experience will be central as Morocco faces a strong Colombian side in a match where promotion, ranking, and international visibility are at stake.

With a compact venue and passionate supporters, the USM Tennis Club is expected to offer an intense atmosphere.

Organizers and players alike view the Moroccan crowd as a potential game-changer in a tie where momentum and mental resilience could determine the outcome.

Next month, Casablanca will once again become a focal point of international tennis, hosting a decisive Davis Cup encounter with global implications.
