Marrakech – The second edition of Moroccan Cultural Week in Mexico continues its program with a stop in Villahermosa, capital of the State of Tabasco, as part of a multi-city initiative aimed at strengthening cultural and institutional ties between the two countries.
The evening, which featured a Mexican mariachi performance, was also a showcase of Morocco’s cultural diversity, with a fashion show of traditional Moroccan caftans, performances by the Aabidat Rma group and exhibitions dedicated to Moroccan gastronomy, handicrafts, and zellige art.
Speaking at the event, Morocco’s Ambassador to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, stated that the organization of this cultural week reflects Morocco’s commitment to sharing its cultural heritage and strengthening people-to-people connections with Mexico.
He also highlighted the shared values between the two countries, particularly hospitality, respect for traditions, and openness to cultural exchange, directly inviting participants to visit Morocco directly to experience this heritage firsthand.
For his part, Tabasco Governor, Javier May Rodriguez, emphasized the importance of cultural initiatives in promoting dialogue between nations and strengthening mutual understanding.
He highlighted the cultural similarities between Morocco and Mexico and called for greater cooperation to preserve and promote this shared human heritage.
The Moroccan Cultural Week will conclude in the State of Sonora, where Morocco will participate as guest of honor at the Alonso Ortiz Tirado festival, one of Mexico’s leading cultural events.
