Rabat – In February, Beren Saat celebrated 12 years of marriage to Kenan Doğulu.
The Turkish actress and singer marked the milestone in Los Angeles by premiering her new music video, “CapitaliZoo,” sharing the moment both as a married couple and as collaborators on her latest artistic project.
CapitaliZoo carries deep symbols on how society shapes us.
Saat reveals that the song is about how the world attempts to tame us. We are all born free and true to who we are, but as we grow, society makes us build these masks and live a life far removed from who we are.
The title is a foxy play on words, combining “capital” , which evokes society, cities, and structures of power, with “zoo,” representing how people are often tamed or confined by social expectations and constraints.
It’s not about capitalism but it reflects the invisible cages that shape human behavior.
In the music video, characters ,switching and transitioning from perfectly well dressed to wearing animal masks and behaviors, bring this metaphor to life, illustrating how we are born free and authentic but are gradually influenced to be who we are not, drifting away from our natural state and special touch.
“CapitaliZoo,” filmed right in the heart of Los Angeles, demonstrates Beren’s audacious switch from acting to singing, and highlights her quintessential ability to go back and forth from acting to singing.
The artistic visuals in the video use English lyricism to look at what it means to find yourself, gain your freedom, and become something new.
LA reflects those experiences and is a place she holds dear in her heart.
