Casablanca – Set to air during Ramadan 2026, the upcoming series “Darsh” marks a new milestone in Jihane Khalil’s career as she steps into one of the most competitive drama seasons in the Arab world.

In “Darsh,” Khalil takes on the role of “Tahani,” a layered character navigating emotional and social complexities within a tightly woven network of conflicts.

The role reportedly explores the pressures placed on women in contemporary Egyptian society, reflecting everyday struggles shaped by economic and social realities.

The upcoming series stars renowned Egyptian actor Mostafa Shaaban, one of the recurrent faces of the Ramadan season. His performances often lean into socially grounded characters shaped by the pulse of the street and the weight of everyday realities.

“Darsh” follows the return of a man known in his neighborhood as “Darsh,” a modest spice merchant who reappears after years of unexplained absence.

His comeback, however, is abruptly complicated by a mysterious accident that leaves him with memory loss, turning what should have been a quiet homecoming into an unsettling mystery.

Alongside Shaaban and Khalil, the cast features Sahar El Sayegh, Riyad El Khouly, Tarek El Nahry, Aida Riyad, and Mohamed Ali Rizk.

The first official poster offered a striking glimpse of Khalil in a noticeably different appearance.

The change in her look immediately drew attention. It signals that Tahani’s journey will not remain static as the narrative unfolds. This alone has heightened curiosity around the character and increased anticipation ahead of the series’ release.

Over the past years, Khalil has steadily built her presence in Egyptian productions. She appeared in TV dramas like “Taqat Nour,” and “Al Aaedoun.” She also took roles in films such as “122” and “Sundooq Al Dunya.”
