Rabat – With the start of the holy month of Ramadan, Arab celebrities are embracing looks that balance modesty and sophistication, with the Moroccan caftan taking center stage through modern cuts and luxurious details that express their unique identities.

Bassma Boussel

Morocco’s Bassma Bousil opted for a white caftan designed by Salma Bennani, featuring a flowing “Evase” silhouette that drapes gracefully.

The piece was delicately embroidered with floral motifs, while the bodice and sleeves stood out in olive green, creating a refined contrast that blended tradition with a modern feminine touch.

Haifa Wehbe

Haifa Wehbe appeared in a black abaya adorned with an elegant grey pattern, adding depth and sophistication to the design.

She styled it with a flowing black headscarf, enhancing the Eastern aesthetic, and completed the look with a Hermès crocodile leather bag in an off-white shade, striking a perfect balance between classic luxury and understated elegance.

Shatha Hassoun

Shatha Hassoun chose a white off-shoulder caftan that brought a bold, contemporary edge.

The design featured light chiffon sleeves and striking gold embroidery, adding a sense of opulence. Paired with a gold handbag and a statement choker, the look blended elegance with a confident modern flair.

Nesreen Tafesh

Nesreen Tafesh wore a white caftan by Maison Arabelle, defined by its flowing silhouette and elegant V-neckline.

Feathered sleeve edges added soft movement, while a silver embroidered choker detail at the neck elevated the look with a regal, refined touch suited to Ramadan’s ambiance.

Arwa

Arwa stood out in a rich purple caftan adorned with silver embroidery along the neckline and across the design.

The look delivered a luxurious feel, making it ideal for Ramadan evenings and special gatherings, while maintaining a harmonious balance between bold color and intricate detailing.

Ramadan 2026’s fashion statement

For Ramadan 2026, leading fashion houses are turning their focus toward heritage silhouettes, with the Moroccan caftan emerging as a key inspiration across collections.

Fendi introduced its “Noor” collection as a sophisticated nod to modest elegance, incorporating fluid lines and elongated silhouettes that echo the structure and grace of the caftan.

Similarly, Prada unveiled a Ramadan 2026 wardrobe designed for the rhythm of the holy month.

With its emphasis on soft tailoring, layered pieces, and understated refinement, the collection subtly channels caftan-inspired forms through minimalist cuts and elevated fabrics.

Meanwhile, Dolce & Gabbana placed the Moroccan caftan at the heart of its Ramadan 2026 collection.

The brand offered a direct homage to the traditional garment, highlighting its timeless appeal and positioning it within the global luxury fashion narrative.

The Moroccan caftan is one of the most iconic garments in North African fashion, deeply rooted in centuries of history and cultural exchange.

Traditionally worn by Moroccan women for special occasions such as weddings, religious celebrations, and family gatherings, the caftan is known for its flowing silhouette and intricate detailing.

Each piece is often handcrafted by skilled artisans, featuring luxurious fabrics like silk, velvet, or brocade, and adorned with fine embroidery, beadwork, and sfifa (decorative trim), making every caftan a work of art.
