Rabat – Ramadan is finally here. This means long evenings, delicious meals to break the fast, and the joy of sharing food with family and friends.
After a day of fasting, ftour is a special moment, but it can also feel like a race against time. You want something satisfying on the table quickly, without spending hours in the kitchen. It’s a time to enjoy food and connect with family, not stress over complicated recipes.
Preparing ftour can take time, and sometimes life gets busy that we don’t always have hours to cook. That’s where quick, satisfying recipes come in.
Savory croissants are the perfect solution. They’re warm, flaky, and filled with creamy béchamel and deli meat, making them a comforting yet easy option for last-minute ftour.
With just a few ingredients and a short time in the oven, you can serve something that feels homemade and impressive without the stress.
Preheat the oven to 180°C, and let’s get started.
Ingredients
Croissants
Béchamel sauce
Deli meat
Cheese (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the béchamel: melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the flour to make a roux, then slowly add the milk while whisking until thickened. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
Split the croissants in half. Spread a spoonful of béchamel inside each one, then add slices of deli meat (and cheese if desired).
Place the filled croissants on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10–15 minutes, until heated through and lightly golden.
Et voilà! Serve warm and enjoy a delicious, stress-free ftour.
Bsaha w raha!
