Rabat – The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication has officially launched the fourth edition of its national writing competition as part of the 31st International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL), scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 10 in Rabat.
According to a statement from the Ministry’s Department of Culture, the competition is open to young writers aged 18 to 30. Participants are invited to submit an original text addressing the theme “Solidarity.”
Submissions may be written in Arabic, Amazigh, French, or English and must be sent no later than April 12.
The Ministry stressed that all entries must be authentic, must not have previously won awards, and must not be generated using artificial intelligence. Candidates are also required to include a signed certificate confirming the originality of their work.
Texts must be submitted via email to: concourjeunesecrivains.SIEL31@outlook.com.
An expert jury will review the submissions and select one winner for each language category. The four laureates will be announced during an official ceremony held as part of the SIEL program.
The competition forms part of the broader cultural programming of SIEL, which continues to position itself as one of the most important literary events in Morocco and the region.
By centering this year’s competition on solidarity, the Ministry aims to encourage young voices to reflect on themes of unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility in a rapidly changing world.
