Rabat – The 3rd edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo (MGE 2026) will take place from May 20-24, at Sofitel Jardin des Roses in Rabat.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (MJCC), it aims to consolidate Rabat’s position as an emerging hub for gaming and interactive entertainment in Africa and the MENA region.
With 5 days of exhibitions, this event will host many discussions and networking sessions.
Spotlighting Moroccan talent
The theme of MGE 2026 is “Moroccan Talent,” focusing on the creativity and technical skills of local developers, startups and young creators.
The Expo will feature exhibition stands, live demonstrations, startup showcases, alongside e-sports tournaments including Fortnite, Valorant and EA Sports FC 26.
These activities will bring together institutions, investors, telecom operators, training providers, and gaming professionals.
New dedicated spaces, including MGI Games and MGI Talks, will further showcase Morocco’s expertise in video game development.
By bringing together both public and private stakeholders, the event seeks to strengthen the country’s gaming ecosystem and boost its international visibility.
Morocco gaming ecosystem
The event aligns with wider national efforts to develop the gaming sector.
Last year, MJCC signed a partnership agreement with the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and CDG-Invest to launch the “Gamification Lab” program, promoting the rapid growth of the gaming industry.
This initiative is designed to support Moroccan startups developing gamification solutions for key sectors such as education, health, culture, tourism, and employment. It also aims to create sustainable jobs and strengthen local production within the digital economy.
The Expo also benefits Rabat Gaming City (RGC), a project aimed at attracting local and international studios to Rabat.
This initiative seeks to support creative and technical talent, generate skilled jobs, and strengthen Rabat’s position as a gaming hub globally.

As part of its international outreach, MGE 2026 invites Erin Roberts as Guest of Honor, a veteran game developer with over 35 years of industry experience in major studios and global projects.

Organizers describe it as one of the largest gaming events in Africa. Building on the success of its previous editions, which gathered over 72,000 visitors, 18 represented countries, 35 investors, and 208 leading industry speakers, the 3rd edition aims to reach new heights.
