Fez — The TGCC Foundation for Art and Culture has announced the launch of the sixth edition of the Prix Mustaqbal, titled “Momentum,” with applications open from February 16 to May 16.

Designed as a platform for emerging Moroccan artists aged 18 to 35, the prize continues to position itself as a catalyst for creative development and professional visibility.

The 2026 theme, “Momentum,” refers to the pivotal instant when an idea transitions into a finished work. According to organizers, the concept reflects the creative impulse that propels artists forward, capturing both movement and transformation.

True to its tradition, the prize remains open in terms of medium, welcoming submissions in drawing, painting, installation, photography, and sound art.

Around fifteen finalists will be selected to exhibit their works at Artorium in September. The exhibition will provide a public platform for the shortlisted artists and an opportunity to connect with collectors, curators, and cultural institutions.

This year’s edition is further strengthened through a strategic partnership with the Prix ellipse, supported by the ellipse art projects fund. The collaboration aims to foster international mobility and strengthen artistic exchange across Africa, reinforcing the prize’s growing continental dimension.

The winner of the 2026 Prix Mustaqbal will receive a financial grant, an artist residency at Jardin Rouge, and the opportunity to participate in duo exhibitions in Paris and Casablanca. These professional development opportunities are designed to support long-term artistic growth beyond the award itself.

Since its creation, the Prix Mustaqbal has sought to identify and nurture emerging talent within Morocco’s evolving contemporary art scene.

With “Momentum,” the TGCC Foundation signals its continued commitment to empowering the next generation of artists and expanding their reach both locally and internationally.
