Internationally acclaimed girl group Blackpink has officially returned to the music scene with the release of “Deadline,” which was released today.
Blending energetic sounds, strong visuals, and the experience gained from successful solo ventures, the mini album signals a refreshed artistic direction while reconnecting the quartet with their global fanbase.
“Deadline” is the group’s first collective release since their globally successful 2022 album “Born Pink,” which dominated international charts and expanded their global fanbase.
The new project also shares its name with the group’s recent world tour, reflecting the identity of this new artistic era.
The mini album consists of five tracks, making it the third mini album in Blackpink’s career, following “Square Up (2018)” and “Kill This Love (2019).”
Ahead of the album launch, Blackpink introduced fans to their comeback through the single “Jump,” released in July 2025.
The track was created in collaboration with internationally renowned producers, including Diplo, as well as longtime collaborators TEDDY and 24.
Blending hardstyle, dance-pop, and EDM influences, the single showcases the group’s signature high-energy sound while showing the collective chemistry of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.
The song achieved strong global chart success and marked the group’s first major musical release in years.
Alongside the album’s release, Blackpink unveiled the music video for “Go,” one of the project’s most dynamic tracks. Driven by electronic beats and powerful choreography, it delivers a visually striking concept.
The five-track EP combines energetic club sounds with confident themes, maintaining Blackpink’s recognizable “girl-crush” identity while exploring a more mature musical style.
During the group’s hiatus following “Born Pink,” each member focused on individual projects that achieved notable success across music, fashion, and entertainment.
These solo activities allowed the artists to expand their creative identities while maintaining strong global visibility ahead of their reunion.
Their individual achievements helped build anticipation among fans worldwide, making the group’s return one of the most-awaited moments in K-pop this year.
