Casablanca – The 2026 edition of The Voice France will start this Saturday, bringing new rules and first-time surprises that promise to shake things up.
This season will feature a double-chair setup, a global premiere that has never been tried in any version of the show – both French and international versions.
In addition to the main coaches, each chair will have a co-coach this season. Amel Bent sits alongside Matt Pokora, Zazie joins Florent Pagny, Lara Fabian takes the chair with Louis Bertignac, and Tayc pairs with Kendji Girac.
The season also introduces the Secret Weapon, a hidden joker that can change the outcome of an audition. Each coach gets their own secret tool that the others don’t know about.
One example is the “boomerang.” With it, a coach who has been blocked can send that block back to the coach who used it and make themselves turn around. A “Block” is a way for a coach to stop another coach from getting a contestant.
After the blind auditions, the competition moves into a newly designed qualifications round. Groups of four contestants face a musical challenge, but each singer gets a chance to perform individually in front of their coach and co-coach. This step ensures that only the strongest and most versatile talents advance, setting the stage for battles of exceptional quality.
Over 65,000 candidates applied this year, of whom 130 talents aged 16 to 75 were selected. More than 70% of the songs performed are new to the show, allowing contestants to reinterpret classics or explore lesser-known tracks.
The show is set to air Saturdays on TF1, with performances available for streaming and replay on TF1+. With its combination of new rules, first-time twists, and a diverse cast, The Voice 2026 promises one of the most memorable seasons yet.
