Rabat – Riad Sultan Theater in Tangier is set to kick off its Ramadan programming on March 7 with a musical journey into Chaouen heritage, led by Hala Bensaïd and her ensemble.

Through the art of “Hadra,” the stage will showcase hypnotic rhythms, spiritual songs, and traditional sounds, creating an immersive sonic experience that resonates deeply with the spirit of the holy month.

On March 11, the theater will welcome back Hamid El Hadri for a highly anticipated performance presenting his new album, “Joudour Roots.“

The work, shaped by a personal journey of resilience, reflects childhood memories, inner quests, and artistic sincerity, offering a deeply human and symbolic musical narrative.

Literature will take center stage on March 14 with the launch of “Tactique Bladi, quand le ballon parle ma langue” by Mohamed Ali El Ouahabi.

The book is a first of its kind in the Arabophone publishing scene, offering a critical and philosophical reading of football, opening new avenues of reflection for both fans and thoughtful observers.

On March 27, the theater will host “Houm,” a creation by the Anfas Théâtrale Company inspired by a text from poet Abdellah Zrika.

Combining narration and lyricism, the production explores a world under tension where the body becomes a site of psychic and ideological conflict, transforming onstage in ways reminiscent of Kafka.

The staging is by Asmaa Houri, with lighting design by Amine Boudrika and original music composed by Rachid El Broumi. Performers Hajar Chargui, Abderrahim Tamimi, Mohamed Chahir, and Zaynab Alji bring the story to life, supported by musicians Abdellali Roudani, Oussama Bourouain, Rachid Bromi, and stage manager Karim Amraoui.

The Ramadan program concludes on March 28 with a family-oriented performance, “Serina and the Fisherman,” by the Haya Nalab Lilfonoun Company, directed by Mahmoud Chahdi.

The theatrical fable blends marine imagination with environmental consciousness, following a fisherman whose line pulls up waste instead of fish, alerting a mermaid to the dangers of pollution.

Alongside its performances, Riad Sultan Theater continues its educational mission with permanent workshops: free theater and circus training for children in the Medina and the Kasbah, an adult theater workshop Acteur/Action led by Noureddine Zioual, and a contemporary dance workshop conducted by choreographer Emmanuelle Beauvois.
