Lugano — Yesterday, Hollywood’s acting community gathered for the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, the newly rebranded version of the former Screen Actors Guild Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA.
Hosted by actress Kristen Bell and held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, the ceremony streamed live on Netflix and honored the year’s most outstanding performances in film and television.
Awards in film
Vampire-infused period drama “Sinners” earned the night’s top film honor, with its ensemble recognized for delivering a gripping, unified performance that blended intensity and emotional depth.
Michael B. Jordan took home Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie. He was celebrated for his ambitious dual performance portraying twin brothers.
On the female side, Jessie Buckley won Best Actress in a Leading Role for “Hamnet,” delivering a performance recognized for its emotional restraint and raw vulnerability.
Sean Penn claimed Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in “One Battle After Another,” adding another milestone to his decades-long career.
Amy Madigan won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “Weapons,” for a powerful turn that balanced strength and vulnerability. Her acceptance speech resonated as a tribute to working actors across the industry.
Best Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture went to “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” honoring the film’s high-risk, meticulously executed stunt work.
Awards in television
On the television side, the cast of “The Pitt” won Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, honored for their cohesive performances and emotionally grounded storytelling.
Noah Wyle was also recognized for his work on the series, winning Best Actor in a Drama Series for a performance that anchored the show’s emotional core and elevated its dramatic stakes.
Keri Russell won Best Actress in a Drama Series for “The Diplomat,” recognized for a commanding performance that carried the series’ high-stakes political drama.
“The Studio” emerged as a standout in the comedy categories, claiming Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Catherine O’Hara was honored with Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on the show, receiving a standing ovation for her final television performance following her death in January.
The award served as both a celebration of her work and a tribute to her lasting legacy in comedy, with Seth Rogen, co-creator of the series, accepting the honor on her behalf.
Rogen was also honored at the event, winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series for “The Studio,” recognized for a performance that blended humor with sharp self-awareness.
Owen Cooper won Best Actor in a Limited Series for “Adolescence,” earning recognition for a powerful and emotionally layered portrayal, while Michelle Williams won Best Actress in a Limited Series.
“The Last of Us” won Best Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series, recognized for its intense, meticulously choreographed action sequences.
