Fez — Morocco’s rap scene is getting a major spotlight at Les Flammes 2026, with multiple Moroccan artists securing pre-nominations ahead of the awards ceremony on April 23 at La Seine Musicale in the Paris region.

Casablanca’s ElGrandeToto is pre-nominated in “La Flamme du Morceau de Musiques Africaines ou d’Inspiration Africaine” for his track “BOOMX3.” The category recognizes songs rooted in popular culture whose sound draws from African musical currents.

Meanwhile, Draganov is pre-nominated alongside Ino Casablanca for “La Flamme du Featuring Européen et/ou International de l’année” with “MOULA SOLITUDE,” joining a competitive list that also includes DYSTINCT ft. JuL for “PRINCESSA.” The category is defined by collaborations between artists of different nationalities and languages, with impact across distinct markets.

The growing internationalization of Moroccan rap

ElGrandeToto, one of Morocco’s most visible rap exports in recent years, has built a wide following through a sound that blends Moroccan street rap with broader Afro and trap influences, and “BOOMX3” has become one of his most circulated recent releases.

Draganov, a Moroccan rapper and producer originally from Oujda, has gained regional attention for mixing rap with Maghrebi influences, including raï textures. His collaboration with Ino Casablanca on “MOULA SOLITUDE” places Moroccan talent directly inside one of the ceremony’s most internationally framed categories.

Awards night details and how voting works

Launched in 2023 to spotlight rap, R&B, and other popular music cultures often seen as underrepresented in traditional awards circuits, Les Flammes will return for its fourth edition on April 23 at La Seine Musicale.

Public voting is currently open, with multiple reports indicating the vote window runs until March 22, leaving roughly 11 days from today (March 10) for supporters to back their favorites.

If as a Moroccan or a fan of this emerging brand of increasingly mainstream Moroccan rap you want Moroccan names to be visible on one of the biggest Francophone urban music stages of the year, voting is the most direct way to show it.
